Here is a 1949 Buick Super Straight Eight, only 62000 miles. Original engine, rebuilt Dynaflow, body has been reworked/restored. The engine runs smoother than a lot of modern V-8s. The Dynaflow automatic transmission is only a two speed hydraulic pump driven transmission. No gear shifting like new automatics. When climbing a big hill at low speeds it?s best to move the shift leaver to the ?L? position. Other wise the engine will hum a lot, but it puts a lot of strain on the transmission. These old Dynaflow trans. do not shift on their own. However we love her and she will last in our family for another 56 years!!
